ONLY plastic credit cards can be shredded. This includes standard magnetic strip credit cards as well as newer plastic credit cards with microchips (also known as EMV-Europay, MasterCard, Visa cards). DO NOT shred metal credit cards. Please note that EVM chips are usually less than 2mm x 2mm and therefore, if aligned just right, can fit between the teeth when shredding. Use caution when destroying credit cards and only use the designated credit card slot when shredding.
