Eventually, the filters will be clogged and the air flow going through the machine will be dramatically reduced. If no more air is going through the product, the air won't be cleaned anymore. If there is an excessive quantity of dirt, dust and pollutants on the filters with no air flow to vacuum them and keep them on the filters, those may also be released in the air.
